High definition was at its finest tonight.

Many who tuned to the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat game tonight were caught by surprise. The Heat were wearing their rainbow-looking retro uniforms in tonight's game.

A glance at Twitter reveals many mixed reactions to the uniforms.

Aesthetics aside, what is the reasoning behind the retro uniforms?

The Heat are wearing uniforms in honor of the 1971-1972 ABA Miami Floridians. 

The ABA team finished 36-48 that season, so this version of the Floridians look a lot better than the team from the '70s.

The game itself was just as exciting as the vibrant jerseys.

The 76ers are surprising the league and entered the game with an 11-4 record. Not many would have thought that Philadelphia would have entered with a better record than Miami.

Miami entered the game at 10-4.

That changed tonight, however.

Miami beat the 76ers, 113-92.
