Iman Shumpert Is Officially Keeping the Hair

The wait is over for New York Knick fans.

Iman Shumpert has finally voiced his intentions.

The hi-top fade isn't going anywhere.

It may be a look more befitting of Shumpert's hip-hop alter ego 2wo 1ne than of a 2012-13 member of the New York Knicks, but that won't stop him from rocking the cut on the NBA hardwood. 

Per ESPNNewYork.com's Ian Begley:

"I'm not cutting my hair,"Shumpert said during an interview on ESPN New York 98.7 FM's The Michael Kay Show. "I've had people say it looks stupid. I don't really care what they think -- they don't have to wear it."  



He's not the first contemporary pro to offer a cranial salute to the historical hairstyle choices of his predecessors.

Point guards Brandon Jennings (Milwaukee Bucks) and Norris Cole (Miami Heat) have both opted for similar cuts.



Philadelphia 76ers big man Spencer Hawes tried his own contemporary approach of the mullet, a disastrous 'do that's somehow fought off certain death for the better part of the past two decades.
