Iman Shumpert Injury: Updates on Cavaliers Guard’s Shoulder and Recovery

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert left Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors with a shoulder injury. Although he would later return in the second period.

Shumpert Injures Shoulder in Game 3 Tuesday, June 9 CNN's Rachel Nichols reported Shumpert headed to the locker room after injuring his left shoulder on a screen by Draymond Green in the first quarter of Game 3. Although he would return with 5:31 remaining in the second period with a sleeve on his arm. 

As Nichols pointed out, this is the same shoulder Shumpert injured as a member of the New York Knicks earlier this season. 

Shumpert's injury adds to the already unsteady status of Cleveland's backcourt, as Kyrie Irving is out for the series with a broken kneecap. 

Since his trade from the Knicks along with fellow teammate J.R. Smith in January, Shumpert has become a defensive specialist for the Cavaliers, shutting down the opposition's best players.
