Iman Shumpert Injury: Updates on Cavaliers Guard’s Knee and Return

Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Iman Shumpert will miss at least one game while dealing with a sore left knee on Saturday.

Shumpert Out vs. Bulls Saturday, April 9 Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported Shumpert will not play Saturday against Chicago.

Injuries have been dogging Shumpert all season long, including a wrist ailment that required preseason surgery and a shoulder stinger that briefly forced him to miss time in February. 

Although his per-game averages (5.8 PTS, 3.8 REB, 1.0 STL) haven't been a cause for celebration, it's hard to ignore just how important his presence is on the perimeter. 

While basic box score stats don't do his performance justice, advanced numbers highlight how Shumpert has evolved into the Cavaliers' stingiest wing defender thanks to his combination of length and strong lateral quickness.
