Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard finished Wednesday's 130-99 loss to the San Antonio Spurs with just 13 points and eight rebounds, thus ending his 16-game streak of double-doubles in contests against the Spurs, per Elias Sports Bureau.
Howard's run was the longest active streak of its kind for any one player against any one team, stretching all the way back to November 2010 when he was still playing for the Orlando Magic, per Basketball-Reference.com's play index.
While the last few years have included some trying times for the 30-year-old center, he always seems to step up to the challenge against a San Antonio team that is consistently near the top of a loaded Western Conference.
His teams posted a modest 8-8 record during the 16-game double-double streak, but that includes a shocking run of six consecutive wins between April 2013 and November 2014, as the Rockets oddly got the best of their in-state rival for a six-game stretch that included all four matchups during the 2013-14 season.
