How the Top 10 NBA Teams Fared at the Trade Deadline

The top 10 teams in the NBA have been busy since the 2008-09 season ended. With their eyes locked on the Lakers and what it takes to win a NBA championship, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers made a major move at the trade deadline, trading for Washington Wizards star forward Antawn Jamison. Kobe Bryant and the Lakers are well-prepared to defend their title and the Boston Celtics, the 2008 champions, traded for the New York Knicks' Nate Robinson, a good scorer and passer. Teams out of contention made moves to purge pricey players while playoff contenders prepared to make a run for the title. Several teams have star players with expiring contracts and may be making one last run for a title before reorganizing their rosters. The East is top-heavy with Cleveland, Boston, and Orlando and although the West is deeper, there may only be a few serious challengers for the Lakers.
