This year's crop of freshmen are some impressive dunkers, so the guys in the NBA better be on watch. Oh, and I'm talking about freshmen in high school, by the way.
A handful of the nation's top freshmen were hanging out after a U-16 USA Basketball practice, casually having a dunk contest that would have been better received than this year's NBA Dunk Contest entries.
It's no surprise that guys like 6'6" Terrance Ferguson and 6'10" Ivan Rabb can throw down with the best of today's NBA players. However, when you see guys like Malik Monk (6'3") or Seventh Woods (a slight 6'2") throw down an "East Bay Funk Dunk," your mouth tends to drop.
These guys may be tall, but once you remind yourself that they're all only 14 and 15 years old, something inside your head just shuts down. How can kids so young be so incredibly athletic?
Of course, these are the top-tier freshmen in the entire country, so they're not exactly pushovers.
Woods averaged 19.3 points per game this season, and most of these guys are already poked at by elite collegiate programs.
