Help! Where Are You? What Happened To the NBA’s All-Star Weekend?

Although we're a long ways away from February, we should all acknowledge that NBA All-Star Weekend has officially taken a turn for the worse.

Every President's Day Weekend, my friends and I would have three days to put off all schoolwork, (until around 11:30 Monday night, when we start regretting not starting the paper that's due tomorrow, earlier in the weekend), to commit entirely to basketball.

From playing the NBA 2K series on Microsoft's XBOX, to marching down to the close elementary school to prove that white boys CAN dunk!...on eight-foot hoops. The weekend in its entirety revolves around basketball.

For the last eight or nine years, All-Star Weekend was something I looked forward to. Fortunately, I recently found the common sense to jump off the ship.

It was a shocking day when I realized All-Star Weekend gave me the same amount of entertainment, as watching the kid in class who twirls his pencil...thanks, Ryan. But in all honesty, All-Star Weekend has lost its touch. 

Your toleration for the weekend begins to get tested in day one: Starting with what is called the "celebrity" game.
