Hawks Set NBA Playoff Record for Most 3-Pointers Attempted in 1 Game

The Atlanta Hawks fell short of their goal in Saturday's Game 7 loss to the Indiana Pacers, but they still managed to set an NBA playoff record by attempting 44 three-point shots, per ESPN Stats & Info.

A large part of Atlanta's Saturday failure can be attributed to the fact that just 11 of those 44 treys hit their mark.

Sharpshooter Kyle Korver was the only thing that stood between the Hawks and one of the worst shooting performances in playoff history, as the 6'7" swingman made five of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc. The rest of the team converted at a miserable 17.6 percent clip, thanks in large part to power forward Paul Millsap (0-of-5), small forward DeMarre Carroll (0-of-5) and center Pero Antic (0-of-3).

Ironically, the Pacers' struggles in the series were largely blamed on the floor-stretching ability of Atlanta's frontcourt.

Antic never found much of a shooting groove, but he kept Pacers center Roy Hibbert away from his comfort zone near the rim. Millsap knocked down nine treys through the first six games of the series, while reserve power forward Mike Scott added seven.
