Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside is dealing with a knee injury.

Whiteside Ruled Out of Monday's Contest Monday, Jan. 11 Whiteside was originally considered a game-time decision for the game against the Golden State Warriors, but the team's official Twitter account confirmed that the big man is out.

Whiteside has developed into a key asset on the interior for Miami. He traveled the globe after his first NBA stint with the Sacramento Kings didn't work out. Now he's averaging a double-double while leading the league in blocks for the Heat at 3.81 per game.

On the injury front, he previously missed some action with knee soreness. That's always a concern. "I really felt like I couldn't really do anything, as far as running or jumping," he said at the time, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

If Whiteside is forced back to the sidelines, the Heat will once again use a committee to fill the void opposite Chris Bosh in the frontcourt. Chris Andersen, Amar'e Stoudemire and Udonis Haslem could all see an uptick in minutes.
