The Memphis Grizzlies fired head coach Dave Joerger on Saturday morning, and they aren't wasting any time beginning the search for his replacement.

Grizzlies Move Quickly To Begin Coaching Hunt Saturday, May 7 Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported the Grizzlies are planning "to pay market value" for their next head coach and noted they have set their sights on former Indiana Pacers coach Frank Vogel.

Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace released a statement about the coaching change on the team's official site: "After careful consideration, I concluded that a change was needed to foster the strong culture required to achieve sustainable, long-term success for this organization, the city and our fans."

Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated provided further details about the decision:



It's no surprise there was more to the story because Joerger actually led the team to a lot of on-court success over the past three years. The Grizzlies went 147-99 (.598) during the regular season and qualified for the playoffs every year.
