Gregg Popovich Gets Testy with Media, ‘Is There a Question There?’

Gregg Popovich doesn't appreciate being asked questions of any kind—and when he doesn't like them, he won't answer them.

During a media session, a reporter asked Popovich about the San Antonio Spurs' ball-movement plans for Game 3. Naturally, Coach Pop took exception and answered one query with another of his own.

"Is there a question there?" he asked, seething.

To clarify, there was. It was a rather long-winded one, but it was a genuine question.

No matter. This isn't the first time Pop has slighted a reporter or attempted to skate past a question. For that matter, it's not the 50th either. He's toyed with or been angry at the media for nearly two decades.

ESPN.com's Marc Stein penned an interesting piece leading into the NBA Finals consisting of tales from sideline reporters who have previously incurred the wrath of Popovich.

"There is absolutely a level of anxiety each time I have to do an end-of-quarter interview with Pop," ABC Sports' Doris Burke told Stein. "My one thought: Don't make him angry."
