Two teams looking to crash the Western Conference playoff picture squared off in Denver on Saturday afternoon, as the Golden State Warriors traveled east to take on the Denver Nuggets.
Only one team will be moving on to Round 2.
Led by Stephen Curry and David Lee, the Warriors are making their first playoff appearance since 2007, when Baron Davis and company took down the first-seeded Dallas Mavericks before bowing out in the second round.
Golden State is looking to move well past the second round this year, as head coach Mark Jackson has gotten the most out of his talented roster despite injuries to key players (Andrew Bogut, Brandon Rush).
For the home team, surviving injuries will also be key, as Danilo Gallinari is out and Kenneth Faried is banged up heading into the postseason. Luckily for the Nuggets, the depth has been incredible, and George Karl has punched all the right buttons en route to a No. 3 seed.
