Glen Davis Injury: Updates on Free-Agent F’s Ankle Surgery and Recovery

Free-agent forward Glen Davis is looking for a new contract before the 2015-16 season, but his chances took a hit Wednesday when Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports reported he needs surgery to repair torn ligaments, a cyst and bone spurs in his left ankle.

Davis Reportedly Could Miss 12 Weeks Wednesday, Sept. 2 This is not welcome news for the former LSU Tiger, especially since he averaged disappointing career lows with four points, 2.3 rebounds and 12.2 minutes per game last season as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers.    

While Davis is still not that far removed from a 45-game stint in 2013-14 with the Orlando Magic, where he posted 12.1 points and 6.3 rebounds a night, Spears pointed out the forward will miss eight to 12 weeks “before returning to hoop-related activities after ankle surgery.”
