Gilbert Arenas Sentenced To Three Months in Jail

Federal prosecutors sentenced Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas to three months in jail on Tuesday.

The feds claim that Arenas repeatedly lied about why he carried guns into the Verizon Center, and that his confrontation with teammate Jarvis Crittenton "was not a little joke."  The District Attorney's office released a 61 page sentencing memo that provided new details on the case.

Arenas' role was called a "premeditated threat" according to the Washington Post . 

"The day after the locker room confrontation, the defendant tried to orchestrate a cover-up to conceal his confrontation with Crittenton, a campaign that would continue . . . for some time," prosecutors wrote. (Washington Post )

Gilbert's attorney is asking for up to two years on probation for his client. 

Crittenton told prosecutors that  Arenas' threats were serious and that he brought a gun to the Verizon Center for protection.  Is that snitching? (Pause.)
