Former No. 1 Overall Pick Greg Oden Dominates in Chinese League Debut

In his first game in the Chinese Basketball Association, Greg Oden looked like the player the Portland Trail Blazers hoped for when they selected the former Ohio State Buckeyes star with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft.

Oden dealt with injury after injury during his time in the NBA and eventually became too big of a risk for any team to take a chance on. As a result, the 27-year-old joined the CBA to continue his basketball career.

So far, so good.

The 7-foot Oden dropped 19 points, grabbed 24 rebounds and added four blocks in his first game with the Jiangsu Dragons. That monster performance may not have come against NBA competition, but the numbers are impressive nonetheless.

If Oden can continue to dominate in the CBA, he may get another shot in the NBA one day. For now, all he can do is put up numbers and do his best to stay healthy.
