Flip Saunders to Miss Timberwolves vs. Raptors Due to Personal Reasons

Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders is going to miss the team's contest Wednesday evening against the Toronto Raptors.

Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports has the report:

Jon Krawczynski of The Associated Press added the following:

Saunders, in his first season back with the Timberwolves after coaching the team from 1995-05—he also had stints in Detroit and Washington following his time in Minnesota—has endured a rough season. The team is just 14-52 and is once again in rebuilding mode after trading Kevin Love in the offseason.

There are bright spots for the team, of course. Andrew Wiggins is having a strong rookie season, Ricky Rubio continues to be one of the most entertaining point guards in the league to watch when he's healthy, and the team has some nice, young talent to build around. Add in another high pick coming its way this season, and Minnesota has hope for the future.

Saunders is the man the Timberwolves chose to lead in that new era of Minnesota basketball.
