Minnesota has recalled Jonny Flynn from the D-League.  It is only a matter of time before he suits up for the Timberwolves. He has yet to play for the Timberwolves this season as he has been recovering from hip surgery.

Flynn did not exactly have a monster season in his rookie year, but he did outproduce the lower tier starting point guards, with per game averages of 13.5 points, 4.4 assists, 2.4 rebounds, one steal and one three-pointer.  To put this in perspective, Flynn provided more points, assists, steals than Hawks starter Mike Bibby. 

In Flynn's way are the mediocre talents of Luke Ridnour and Sebastian Telfair. The second year player should take over the starting PG duties once he shakes off the rust. He will benefit from a much improved team compared to last year.  With Darko Milicic and Kevin Love having breakout years, the acquisition of Michael Beasley and the draft pick of Wes Jonson, Flynn will improve on his assist numbers.

Jonny Flynn has the upside and situation to become fantasy-relevant as soon as he returns to action. If you need help in assists, pick him up.
