Fantasy Basketball Sleepers 2012: Underrated Point Guards to Take in Late Rounds

If you don't have a top pick, you're not going to get Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook or any of the other top point guards in the NBA.

That leaves the other guys, but they don't have to be a bad thing. The point guard position has plenty of upside this season, leaving fantasy owners with plenty of options as the draft drags on.

If you don't have the draft slot necessary to grab one of the league's best point guards, take a chance on one of these three guys this year.

 

Goran Dragic

Dragic didn't get much opportunity in Houston last season, but the Suns are his team to command this season. He's not going to be the squad's leading scorer, but he will be the one running the show.



Last season, in just under 27 minutes per game, Dragic averaged nearly 12 points and 5.3 assists per game. As Kyle Lowry's backup, he was able to produce consistently.

According to ESPN's player rater, Dragic is the 13th-best point guard. Based on his production last year, he should go higher than the later rounds, but his low-profile name could allow him to fall.
