With the Boston Celtics' season over, Evan Turner will have a big decision to make this summer when he becomes a free agent.

Turner Hopes to Stay in Boston Friday, April 29 Per A. Sherrod Blakely of Comcast SportsNet New England, Turner wants to have his next contract done as soon as teams can begin negotiating with players on July 1, and a return to the Celtics remains his first choice.  

The 27-year-old Turner joined the Celtics in September 2014, jump-starting his career after appearing to be a bust as the No. 2 overall pick in 2010. 

He averaged 10.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists and shot a career-high 45.6 percent from the field with the Celtics in 2015-16, per Basketball-Reference.com. Boston head coach Brad Stevens found the ideal role for Turner coming off the bench behind Avery Bradley.

However, Turner's role was expanded against the Atlanta Hawks in the playoffs. Bradley suffered a hamstring injury in Game 1 that kept him out for the next five games. Turner started the final four games of the series, averaging 14.3 points during that span.
