Evan Turner: A New Hope for Philadelphia 76ers and Fans

On June 24th, Evan Turner was selected second overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2010 NBA draft. The Sixers, for once, have made the right move.

Turner is a versatile player. He can play three different positions; point guard, shooting guard, and small forward, and can excel at all three. He won National Player of the Year at Ohio State playing point guard, but he will most likely play at two-guard for the Sixers, alongside point guard Jrue Holiday, last year's first round pick. Holiday and Turner could potentially become a backcourt to remember for 76ers fans.

Personally, I love the pick. I was terrified at the thought of the Sixers drafting Georgia Tech big-man Derrick Favors. They made the right move by drafting Turner. He is destined to become a future superstar in this league. He can bring so much to this 76ers team.

Turner will be a great complement to Jrue Holiday. Both are under 20 and could be the leaders of this team for the next decade. This backcourt could be great, even this year. Holiday ...
