Denver Nuggets point guard Emmanuel Mudiay suffered an ankle injury vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday night and did not return.

Mudiay Suffers Sprained Ankle Friday, Dec. 11  The Nuggets PR team announced Mudiay would miss the rest of the game with the injury.

The Nuggets selected Mudiay with the seventh pick in the 2015 NBA draft, and he was seemingly tabbed as the team's floor general of the future at the time. That assumption was confirmed once Denver dealt point guard Ty Lawson and a 2017 second-round pick to the Houston Rockets in exchange for forwards Joey Dorsey and Kostas Papanikolaou, guards Nick Johnson and Pablo Prigioni, a lottery-protected 2016 first-round pick and cash considerations.

Mudiay has not disappointed overall as he's averaging 11 points, six assists and 3.8 rebounds per game. He's struggled from three-point range, hitting just over 25 percent from distance, and is averaging four turnovers per game, but overall Mudiay's rookie season has been a strong one.
