Dwyane Wade Injury: Updates on Heat Star’s Hamstring and Return

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade left Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers with a hamstring issue.

Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel had the news:



Wade had four points and five assists on 2-of-5 shooting before exiting the game.

Still wildly efficient while on the floor, Wade's injury status remains a constant battle. He's missed eight games already this season, most notably a hamstring injury that cost him seven games in November. His balky knee has also acted up at times, which has become a given at this point.

The Heat have managed to stay alive in the playoff race—currently sitting in the seventh seed—but only due to the futility of the Eastern Conference.

Wade and Chris Bosh's absences have often left them with a sole All-Star on the floor, and big free-agent signings Luol Deng and Josh McRoberts have not worked out as expected.

McRoberts will likely miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury, while Deng has looked far closer to his Cleveland form than what he put forth in Chicago.
