Dwight Howard Injury: Updates on Lakers Star’s Shoulder

The Lakers just can't seem to catch a break this year. The latest bad news for the Lake Show comes in the form of an injury to their prized offseason acquisition, Dwight Howard. 

Mike Bresnahan, the Lakers' beat writer for the Los Angeles Times, tweeted out the news:

Dwight Howard says he might not play tomorrow vs. DEN because of sprained right shoulder sustained vs. Clippers. #Lakers

The Lakers fell to the Clippers on Friday night, 107-102. They made a furious comeback late in the game, but came up just short because of a dumb foul by Howard that stalled momentum and sent Howard to the bench with six fouls. 

Howard appeared to sustain the injury in the third quarter, as he winced in pain and called a timeout. However, he looked good after the incident and finished with 21 points and 15 rebounds.

Given that he played through the injury in that game, he does not appear to be a candidate to miss significant time.
