Donatas Motiejunas, Rockets Agree to New Contract: Latest Details and Reaction

The Houston Rockets and forward Donatas Motiejunas reportedly came to terms on a four-year contract worth $35 million Friday.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical was the first to report the signing, and he added that it could be worth up to $37 million with bonuses.

The Rockets matched an offer sheet Motiejunas signed with the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, but they pulled the sheet and negotiated a new deal when he didn't report for his physical, per NBA.com.

Wojnarowski offered more specifics regarding the deal, including how little of it is guaranteed:



On Saturday, Wojnarowski reported Houston is still working through Motiejunas' physical exam and have not activated him yet.

The 7-foot native of Lithuania has not played this season while holding out, but 2016-17 will mark his fifth NBA campaign.

After Motiejunas averaged career highs with 12.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per game in 71 games (62 starts) in 2014-15, his production dropped off to the tune of 6.2 points and 2.9 rebounds last season, and a back injury limited him to 37 games.
