Don Nelson Trying to Impress Warriors’ New Future Owner?

Don Nelson has expressed interest and apparent "excitement" at coaching the Golden State Warriors' Summer League squad this upcoming off-season in Las Vegas.

It's overly clear, however, that the 69-year-old head coach knows that he has some work to do in order to impress the yet-to-come owner of this franchise.

Summer league is the start, though?

Nelson has studied the upcoming season schedule and might have just figured out that getting those four wins in order to surpass Lenny Wilkins on the all-time win record could prove arduous.

Therefore, with his slick mind, he decided to inform the public that he intends to coach the young and blossoming Warriors' players this summer.

Why does Nelson, abruptly, announce he wants to coach the young stars when he has done little-to-no coaching the past two seasons?

He has allowed his top assistant, Keith Smart, to occasionally take over games and has permitted other assistants to coach during crunch time in games.
