Terrence Jones had 22 points and 10 rebounds, James Harden had 20 points and 12 assists and the Houston Rockets held off the Detroit Pistons for a 118-110 victory on Saturday night.

The Rockets led by as much as 25 in the third quarter, only to see the Pistons fight back and trim the lead to seven with just under a minute-and-a-half to play in the fourth period. However, the comeback proved too little too late for Detroit, as it dug itself too big of a hole to climb out of.

Houston scored 69 points in the first half, and due to its offensive explosion during those first two quarters, it was able to withstand giving up 64 over the final 24 minutes.

The Rockets shot 50 percent from the floor and buried 11 three-pointers, five of them courtesy of Patrick Beverley, who tied a career-high in triples made. Beverley connected on three huge treys in the fourth period to help keep the Pistons at bay.

Detroit, which ranks No. 1 in the league in points in the paint, scored 68 points in that area, the most the Rockets had surrendered in the paint all season long. Houston, which checks in at No. 3 in that category, posted 58 points inside.
