Favors Out with Back Spasms vs. Thunder Saturday, March 28 The Jazz announced Saturday that Favors was suffering from back spasms and wouldn't be able to go against the Thunder.

Favors is averaging 16.4 points and 8.3 rebounds a night. While the 23-year-old was already on his way to a strong season before the Enes Kanter trade, he's really taken a big step forward with Kanter gone. Many fans in Utah could see the potential Favors possessed, but he hadn't put it all together until now.

News of Favors' injury won't be welcome, but it won't have much of an impact on the team. While the Jazz have played above expectations this year, they're still not at a place where they can compete for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

If Favors can continue improving next year, though, Utah might seriously contend for the top eight.
