DeRozan Tops Raptors’ Record for Most Points in First 14 Games

Toronto Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan tallied 25 points in Monday's 123-115 loss to the Loss Angeles Clippers.

While that total falls below his 30.9 per-game average through 14 games this season, his 433 total points over that span are the most in franchise history, per Sportsnet Stats. The 6'7" Compton native sits behind just the Oklahoma City Thunder's Russell Westbrook (31.8 points per game) through the early portion of the season.

Chris Bosh set the previous record in 2008-09 when he scored 386 points over that span—47 fewer than DeRozan's output thus far. Bosh posted a similar mark the next season, notching 373 points through 14 tilts in 2009-10.

DeRozan has averaged over 20 points per game in each of the last three seasons and posted a career-high 23.5 per contest last year. While there is still a long way to go, the 27-year-old is on pace to shatter that mark.
