DeMarcus Cousins Finds Mentor in Former Kings Star Chris Webber

DeMarcus Cousins has made more than his share of headlines for a second-year player on a losing team. Luckily for Sacramento Kings fans, Cousins has been making the right moves on and off of the court since Keith Smart took over after Paul Westphal was axed. Cousins' talent has never been an issue (the sophomore is averaging a double-double for the Kings this season), but many have wondered if his talent would be enough. 

While the 6-foot-11 center has had his hot-headed moments off the court, he's got a new mentor who is familiar with his situation. Former Kings forward Chris Webber has entered the scene and is ready to help guide Cousins by passing along the kind of advice that can only be learned through experience. So far, it sounds like a win for the Kings organization, as Cousins is eager for the support. Via Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe:

“I have the utmost respect for C-Web, he’s a real person,’’ Cousins said. “He just gives me advice, tells me how to handle situations. He went through similar situations so of course he has advice for me. I guess you can say a big brother looking over me.’’
