When the Golden State Warriors take to the Pepsi Center on Tuesday night, they'll be trying to even up their seven-game series with the Denver Nuggets without their lone All-Star.

David Lee, an eight-year NBA veteran, tore his right hip flexor in Golden State's 97-95 loss to Denver in Game 1—the first playoff game of his career. Although he's not expected to need surgery, he has since been ruled out for the remainder of the postseason (via ESPN.com).

His absence will clearly be felt, as he led the team in rebounds during the regular season (11.2 per game) and finished with the second-highest scoring average (18.5).

But his loss becomes potentially damning when coupled with the news that Nuggets second-year forward Kenneth Faried expects to return from a three-game sideline stint due to a sprained left ankle (via Benjamin Hochman of the Denver Post).

Anyone expecting the Warriors to simply concede the series is sorely mistaken, though.
