David Lee: Latest News, Rumors, Speculation Surrounding Free-Agent PF

The Boston Celtics released 32-year-old power forward David Lee on Friday, and the Dallas Mavericks appear to have the inside track on signing him. On the season, Lee averaged 7.1 points and 4.3 rebounds in 30 games.

Mavericks Reportedly Leaders to Land Lee Saturday, Feb. 20 Shams Charania of The Vertical reported Lee is expected to sign a $2.1 million deal with the Mavericks when he clears waivers.

Charania first reported the Mavericks' interest in Lee on Friday.

Healthy Lee Could Be an Asset Lee, who spent five years apiece with the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors before going to Boston this season, has regressed over the past two years while dealing with injuries.

The two-time All-Star scored between 16.0 and 20.2 points per game from 2008-09 to 2013-14, and in three of those seasons, he averaged a double-double. If healthy, Lee could be a useful addition for the Mavericks, but Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News said no deal is imminent:
