David Kahn Says Michael Beasley Did Too Much Marijuana in the Past

According to Minnesota Timberwolves' president David Kahn, Michael Beasley did too much marijuana in the past. Now Beasley is maturing and is being a better man. Kahn said acquiring Beasley was worth it, despite his past off-court issues with the Miami Heat.

Beasley was drafted as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft but was traded two weeks ago after only two seasons with the team. Many have said he is a bust, but I don't see why. He averages about 14 points and seven rebounds per game, and there's nothing wrong with that. Entering his third year, the 21-year-old hopes to improve himself.

"He's a very young and immature kid who smoked too much marijuana and has told me that he's not smoking anymore, and I told him that I would trust him as long as that was the case," team president David Kahn said in an interview on 1500 ESPN Twin Cities,

Beasley was banned from the rookie symposium because of many issues, was fined for breaking the rules, and had to enter rehab. At one point last season Beasley had suicidal thoughts and had to enter treatment at a hospital. He was saying ...
