Utah Jazz point guard Dante Exum will not participate in offseason activities with the Australian national team in advance of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, as he continues to recover from knee surgery.

"At this stage the most important thing for me right now is to continue training," Exum said, per a team release. "It's been great to be back on the court competing, and I'm really motivated to help the Jazz have a successful season this year. My support and best wishes will be with the Boomers this summer, and I look forward to future opportunities to represent my home country."
The Jazz used the No. 5 pick on Exum in the 2014 NBA draft with the hopes he would develop into a superstar in the future with more experience. However, his early career has been filled with physical setbacks that have hindered his progress, and this is the latest example.
He suffered a torn ACL while playing for the Australian national team last August and underwent surgery that cost him all of the 2015-16 campaign.
