“I definitely want to get out there,” Russell said, per Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News. “We only have a few games left and want to finish the season on a positive note. I definitely want to get out there as soon as possible. I’ll see how it feels tomorrow and make a decision.”
Russell Significant Part of Lakers' Future Plans
This is a lost season for the Lakers, but they do not want to see their young playmaker suffer a significant injury or miss extensive time.
Russell was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft, and he is one reason there is still optimism in Los Angeles despite the fact the team hasn’t reached the playoffs since the 2012-13 campaign.
