James Harden scored 32 points, Patrick Beverley hit a career-high six three-pointers and the short-handed Houston Rockets spoiled Chandler Parsons' return to the Toyota Center, winning 95-92 Saturday night. The defeat for the Mavericks snapped their six-game winning streak.

The Rockets were without both Dwight Howard (knee) and Terrence Jones (leg), but Harden was more than ready to rise to the occasion.

Harden converted a three-point play with 28.2 seconds remaining to put Houston up 93-92, and Trevor Ariza then hit two free throws after a Mavericks turnover to give the Rockets a three-point lead.

Beverley, who left the game late in the fourth quarter with a sore hamstring, drained five of his six triples in the first half en route to tying a career-high with 20 points. 

Houston went 13-of-25 from downtown as team over the first 24 minutes, but it was not nearly as effective from distance during the final two quarters, going 2-for-21.

Fortunately for the Rockets, the damage they did in the first half held up.
