Come To Think of It: Time for Bulls To Put Del Negro Out of Misery

They shoot horses, don't they?

Look, if the Internet report stating that Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro has been fired is true, and God knows it should be, then just confirm it and name an assistant as interim head coach.

If it's not true, and that would be criminal, then say that, too.

But to let the status quo continue is not fair to Nel Negro, nor Bulls fans who understand the inevitable.

Del Negro should never have been hired in the first place. He simply can't coach.

But the invisible Gar Forman and the unavailable John Paxson refuse to step up and diffuse the rumor or confirm the inevitable. And that sucks.

Look, each moment that star point guard Derrik Rose has to be poisoned by bad coaching is a wasted and disruptive time.

Del Negro's offense is ridiculous, and at this point, even he must realize this. Even an interim solution of Bernie Bickerstaff would be an improvement at this point.

Then, next year the Bulls can find a permanent coach who can be a mentor to Rose.

But at this rate, we'll waste a full season waiting for the likes of Doug Collins to turn us down.
