No matter what you may hear or read in the coming day and summertime months, Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski cannot be bought. Money is not an issue for a coach that has won four NCAA Titles with the Blue Devils and restored USA Basketball to glory by bringing home the gold. Trust me when I say this: Coach K can’t be bought. The latest rumors hitting the screens is that New Jersey’s new billionaire owner will be offering Coach K somewhere between $12 million to $15 million per season, which is twice what he admittedly turned down with the Lakers in 2004. You know what though? So what. Nothing, not millions or billions or trillions, can lure Coach K away from the job of a lifetime in Durham, North Carolina. Don’t forget we’re also talking about America’s Coach, and he’ll be leading Team USA from here until who-knows-when; so why the heck would he go take over a New Jersey Nets program that isn’t heading anywhere in the near future, no matter what the price-tag on his contract may be?
