It’s safe to say Cliff Alexander’s collegiate career at Kansas didn’t go exactly according to plan, but that will not stop him from entering the 2015 NBA draft.
ESPN’s Jeff Goodman passed along the news Tuesday, which may come as a surprise to some considering Alexander only averaged 7.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in 17.6 minutes of action a night in his only college season. He did not appear in a single NCAA tournament game for the Jayhawks because of concerns about his eligibility.
Perhaps because of those concerns, Jeff Borzello of ESPN offered his take on the news:
It is all about potential with Alexander when it comes to his draft stock, considering he was a disappointment production-wise and last appeared in a game on Feb. 23.
DraftExpress has the once-highly regarded recruit as the No. 31 pick in its latest mock draft, which would mean he went at the bottom of the first round and would theoretically have a chance to compete for immediate playing time, depending on the team’s situation down low.
