Kyrie Irving scored 28 points, LeBron James added 25 and the Cleveland Cavaliers routed the New York Knicks, 126-94, at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night.

Derrick Rose missed the game with a sore back.

This one was never close from the opening tip.

The Cavaliers jumped out to a 36-26 lead after one quarter of play thanks to 13 first-period points from Kevin Love.

By halftime, Cleveland led 63-48, and things only got worse for the Knicks afterward.

The Cavs proceeded to outscore Carmelo Anthony and Co. 29-17 in the third quarter, and by time the final frame rolled around, James and the Cavaliers' stars were able to get a long rest.

Cleveland drained 22 three-pointers and shot 48.8 percent from the floor overall.

Irving and Love combined to hit eight triples, and Iman Shumpert added four treys off the bench.

Tristan Thompson only scored three points but grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds.

Brandon Jennings led New York with 16 points.

Anthony failed to even crack double figures, scoring eight.

The Knicks shot 40.2 percent as a team.
