Cleanthony Early Injury: Updates on Knicks PF’s Knee and Return

November 18th, 2014 by Mike Chiari Leave a reply »

The 2014-15 season is very much about rebuilding for the New York Knicks, but they will be without promising rookie Cleanthony Early for at least the next month.

According to the team's official public relations Twitter account, the Wichita State product is set to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery before being re-evaluated in four weeks:

Despite the setback, Early is maintaining a positive attitude:

The 6'8" forward was a second-round pick by the Knicks in the 2014 NBA draft. He is averaging nearly three points and one rebound per game in limited action, but the 23-year-old has the tools necessary to be a bigger contributor as the season continues.

His absence won't have much of an impact on what the 3-8 Knicks do from a rotational standpoint in the coming weeks, but it will certainly slow down Early's progress to some degree.
