Chris Paul Moves into 2nd Place on Clippers’ All-Time Assists List

Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul passed Gary Grant for second place on the all-time franchise assists list during Tuesday's 111-94 win over the Denver Nuggets, per Sportsnet Stats.

Paul put up 15 points, 10 assists, three steals and two rebounds without committing a single turnover in the easy win. It was just his second turnover-free outing of the season, but he does now have five double-doubles, with each of those consisting of points and assists.

With 2,815 of his 7,043 career assists coming in a Clippers uniform, the 30-year-old Paul now sits five ahead of Grant (2,810) on the franchise's all-time helpers list.

Paul should break the record at some point late this season or early next season, as he only needs 684 more assists to surpass Randy Smith (3,498) for the top spot.

With 68 games remaining on the Clippers schedule and Paul currently averaging 8.5 dimes per game, it does seem most likely that he'll have to wait until next season.

However, he'll have a decent chance to hit the mark this season if he avoids missing any games from this point forward.

That's obviously a lot to ask of any 30-year-old ...
