Chris Copeland to Magic: Latest Contract Details, Analysis and Reaction

Veteran forward Chris Copeland was waived by the Milwaukee Bucks on Feb. 22 but found a new NBA home before the 2015-16 season expired when he was claimed off waivers by the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.

The Vertical's Shams Charania first reported the news. Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel confirmed the report.

One of Charania's colleagues, Bobby Marks, broke down the financial parameters of the move:



Copeland has made only 26 starts in 171 career games and began his time in the Association with the New York Knicks in 2012. He spent the next two seasons with the Indiana Pacers before appearing in 24 contests for the Bucks this season.

The 31-year-old brings flexibility to Orlando's bench in that he can play the 3 or the 4 and has range that extends to the three-point arc, where he shoots 36.5 percent for his career. That versatility also allows Copeland to guard multiple positions.
