Chris Bosh will miss Saturday night's game against the Philadelphia 76ers with a sore right knee, according to the Miami Heat.
The Miami Heat tweeted on Saturday:
Bosh is averaging 16.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks while shooting 53 percent from the floor this season. He's scored in double digits in his last seven games.
It's not a surprise that the Heat are being cautious with Bosh as they look forward to the playoffs. The 29-year-old has played in 72 of Miami's 75 games so far, so resting him would be wise before making another run at the NBA title.
The Heat are 59-16 headed into Saturday's game. They've already clinched the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, currently 10 games ahead of the second-seeded New York Knicks. There is no sense in pushing their stars in the last few games of the regular season.
While LeBron James and Dwyane Wade get most of the accolades, Bosh is a "third wheel" any team would love to have. He's made the All-Star team every year since 2006, posting career averages of 19.5 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks while shooting 50 percent from the floor.
