December 23rd, 2014 by Sean Hojnacki Leave a reply »
The Chicago Bulls visited the Washington Wizards Tuesday, and a defensive matchup turned into a rousing fourth-quarter battle between elite point guards, with the Bulls prevailing 99-91.

With the Wizards trailing by 11 and six minutes remaining, John Wall led Washington on a 12-0 run, but his 18 points would not suffice.

Derrick Rose punched back for the Bulls, and his eight consecutive points gave him 25 for the evening and a hard-fought victory for the Bulls. Pau Gasol provided strong support with 18 points, nine boards, four assists and two blocks.

Marcin Gortat double-doubled with 14 and 11, while Bradley Beal scored 15 as the Wizards came up short.

Both teams have a Christmas Day matchup to attend to, with Washington visiting the New York Knicks for a noon ET tip, and Chicago hosting the L.A. Lakers that evening.
