Bulls 103, Rockets 100—Final

The Chicago Bulls recovered from a 14-point deficit to edge the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center on Thursday night.

Nikola Mirotic racked up 28 points, while Jimmy Butler tallied 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Chicago (38-37) moved to within one game of the Indiana Pacers for the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Houston (37-39) opened the second half on a torrid shooting stretch, building a 73-59 advantage after entering the break tied at 52. Trevor Ariza nailed three trifectas, and Patrick Beverley added another.

Unfortunately for the Rockets, only Michael Beasley made a field goal for 11 minutes and 43 seconds of the final quarter. Overall, the Bulls ripped off a 40-18 run. Ariza had a wide-open game-tying attempt at the buzzer, but his shot clanged off the rim.

In addition to James Harden's team-best 24 points, Beverley notched a career-best 22.
