Chandler Parsons Injury: Updates on Rockets Wing’s Wrist, Hip and Return

The Houston Rockets have ruled out Chandler Parsons for Saturday night's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Rockets tweeted that the third-year forward is suffering from wrist and hip injuries:



Parsons was hurt on Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He landed awkwardly after a dunk attempt, per Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle:



The timing couldn't be much worse for the Rockets. Both Dwight Howard and Patrick Beverley will be playing their first game back on Saturday night after recovering from injuries, per the Houston Chronicle's Jenny Dial Creech:



Just as Howard and Beverley come back, Parsons goes down.

The 25-year-old is averaging 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists a night. His do-it-all skill set has proven invaluable to Houston this season. While there's no chance the Rockets miss the playoffs, head coach Kevin McHale will no doubt want Parsons back before the postseason begins.
