Chandler Parsons Injury: Updates on Mavericks Star’s Hip and Return

Dallas Mavericks swingman Chandler Parsons was forced to leave the team's showdown against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday with a right hip injury, according to ESPN.com's Tim MacMahon.

Parsons Seen Limping to Locker Room Tuesday, Jan. 5   Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News relayed the update after Parsons appeared to get dinged up on the defensive end. He tallied 10 points, six rebounds and four assists before exiting. 

"Hit my hip, kinda like a hip flexor," Parsons said, per the Dallas Morning News' Shehan Jeyarajah. "Tried to keep playing but it kept getting stiff. Bruised, for sure."

While the severity of the hip ailment has yet to be confirmed by the team, it's good news Parsons didn't suffer another knee injury. During the offseason, Parsons underwent a "minor hybrid" microfracture surgery on his right knee, per MacMahon. 

The $46 million man experienced some success during his first season with the Mavericks as he averaged 15.7 points on 46.2 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from three, but he was limited to 66 appearances throug ...
