Carmelo Anthony: Would It Be Smart for the New York Knicks To Make a Trade?

Carmelo Anthony has become the most talked about player in the NBA, whether he likes it or not.

He has most recently been linked to the Nets and Knicks. 

The Nets have a deal in place for a three-way trade with the Detroit Pistons and the Nuggets to land Anthony; however, the Knicks are mentioned again and again. To fuel this fire, there have been more stories today about the Knicks potentially trading Anthony Randolph to the Minnesota Timberwolves for a first-round pick in the 2011 draft.

Why else would the Knicks make a trade for a pick other than to get Carmelo? 

Sure, any way you look at it, it's great for the Knicks to grab another pick because they basically have none left after trading them all away in the past years to land LeBron James.

After nabbing a kid like Landry Fields this past draft, I'd like to see the Knicks have as many chances as possible. 

Speaking of Landry, landing Melo would likely be the end of his tenure in the Garden. Count either Danilo Gallinari or Wilson Chandler with him.
