Carmelo Anthony: Why Both the Knicks and Nuggets Are Re-Evaluating His Situation

Remember when the Knicks had a tough time recruiting top-tier free agents over the summer because their roster lacked an efficient supporting cast?  How about when the New Orleans Hornets briefly entertained the idea of dealing Chris Paul, but the Knicks weren't on their radar because they had no valuable assets to offer? 

Or how about the current Carmelo Anthony debacle where the Denver Nuggets have repeatedly made it clear that the Knicks assets are not enough to land the superstar forward?

Since the end of last season, the Knicks have been thought to possess absolutely no assets on their roster.  Their supporting cast has repeatedly faced rejection and been universally doubted.

All of that is about to change.

The Knicks entered this season with many unanswered questions and low expectations. Amare Stoudemire and Raymond Felton had been added to the roster, but many felt they would not be enough to push the Knicks into the playoffs.  

Yet here we are are, almost halfway into the season and the Knicks are 20-14 and hold the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference going into tonight's game against the Phoe ...
